🔐 Overview
LockFastPro Inc. ("LockFastPro", "we", "our", or "us") operates a two-sided marketplace platform that connects customers in need of locksmith services with independent, vetted service providers across Canada. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information when you use our mobile applications, website, and related services (collectively, the "Platform").
By using LockFastPro, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.
Two types of users: LockFastPro has two distinct user groups — Customers who request locksmith services, and Service Providers (Locksmiths) who deliver those services. Each group has different data requirements described below.
👤 For Customers
This section describes how we handle personal information collected from individuals who use LockFastPro to request locksmith services.

How We Use Your Information
- To match you with available, nearby locksmiths based on your location and service type.
- To process payments and issue receipts.
- To provide real-time GPS tracking of your assigned locksmith during an active job.
- To send booking confirmations, status updates, and arrival notifications.
- To facilitate in-app communication between you and your locksmith.
- To resolve disputes, handle refund requests, and provide customer support.
- To improve the Platform through aggregated analytics and feedback.
Location Data
We request access to your device's precise location while using the app ("foreground location") to display nearby locksmiths and provide live tracking during active bookings. We do not access your location in the background when the app is closed. You can revoke location access at any time via your device settings, though this will limit some features.
Payment Data
All payment card data is handled by Stripe, Inc., a PCI DSS Level 1 certified payment processor. LockFastPro receives only a tokenized reference to your saved card. Full card numbers are never stored on our servers. For Stripe's privacy practices, see stripe.com/privacy.
🔧 For Service Providers (Locksmiths)
This section describes how we handle personal information collected from individuals who register as service providers on LockFastPro to offer locksmith services.
Information We Collect
- Account & Business Information: Full name, business name, email address, phone number, profile photo, and business address.
- Government-Issued ID: A copy of a valid government-issued identification document submitted during onboarding for identity verification purposes.
- Locksmith License & Certifications: License number, issuing authority, expiry date, and any certifications you provide to establish your credentials.
- Insurance Documentation: Proof of liability insurance and any other required coverage documents.
- Background Check Results: Results from third-party background check services performed as part of onboarding. These are stored securely and accessed only by compliance staff.
- Banking & Payout Information: Bank account details required for Stripe Connect payouts, including routing numbers and account numbers. This information is transmitted directly to Stripe and is not stored on our servers.
- Live Location Data: Your device's GPS location is tracked in real-time during active jobs to display your position to the assigned customer and to power our ETA feature. Location tracking stops when a job is completed or cancelled.
- Service Area & Working Hours: The geographic zones you serve and the hours you are available, used to match you with relevant job requests.
- Job & Earnings History: Records of all jobs accepted, completed, declined, and cancelled, along with associated earnings and payout history.
- Performance Metrics: Acceptance rate, completion rate, average response time, customer ratings, and reviews.
- Tax Information: For Canadian tax compliance, we collect your Social Insurance Number (SIN) or Business Number (BN) if required to issue a T4A slip for earnings over the CRA reporting threshold.
How We Use Your Information
- To verify your identity, license status, and eligibility to offer services on the Platform.
- To match you with job requests within your service area and working hours.
- To display your real-time location to customers assigned to you during active jobs.
- To process and disburse earnings via Stripe Connect direct deposits.
- To generate earnings reports and payout summaries accessible through your dashboard.
- To ensure compliance with applicable laws and our platform safety standards.
- To issue tax documentation as required by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).
- To investigate and resolve disputes, complaints, or incidents arising from a job.
Real-Time Location Tracking
When you accept a job and mark yourself as "on the way" or "on site", we collect your device's GPS location in real-time. This location data is shared with the customer who booked the job for safety and transparency purposes. Location tracking is active only during the duration of an active job and ceases when the job is marked complete or cancelled. You may not disable location tracking while a job is active, as it is a core safety feature of the platform.
Sensitive Documents
Government ID, license documents, background check results, and tax information are treated as highly sensitive. Access is restricted to authorized compliance and operations personnel and is subject to strict internal access controls. These documents are encrypted at rest and in transit.
Payout & Banking Data
Bank account and financial information for payouts is handled directly through Stripe Connect. LockFastPro does not store full account or routing numbers on our servers. Stripe's handling of this information is governed by the Stripe Privacy Policy.
🌐 Shared Practices
The following practices apply to all users of the LockFastPro Platform regardless of user type.
Information Sharing & Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following circumstances:
- Between matched users: When a booking is created, we share the customer's first name, service address, and contact number with the assigned locksmith, and share the locksmith's name, photo, rating, and live location with the customer.
- Service Providers: We share data with trusted third-party providers including Stripe (payments), Firebase (push notifications), Google Maps (location services), and analytics tools — all under contractual data protection obligations.
- Legal Compliance: We may disclose information when required by law, court order, or government authority, or when necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of LockFastPro, our users, or the public.
- Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, user information may be transferred to the acquiring entity, subject to the same privacy protections.
Data Retention
- Account information is retained for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward to handle disputes or legal obligations.
- Booking and transaction records are retained for a minimum of 7 years for financial and legal compliance.
- Chat messages are retained for 12 months after a booking is completed.
- Sensitive identity and license documents are retained for the duration of your service provider relationship and for up to 3 years afterward.
- You may request deletion of your account and personal data at any time, subject to our legal retention obligations.
Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including TLS/HTTPS encryption for all data in transit, AES-256 encryption for data at rest, role-based access controls, and regular security audits. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Third-Party Services
The Platform integrates with third-party services including Google Maps, Firebase, and Stripe. Use of these services is subject to their respective privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of third-party services.
Children's Privacy
LockFastPro is not directed at individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we become aware that a minor has provided us with personal information, we will delete it promptly.
International Transfers
LockFastPro operates primarily in Canada. Some third-party service providers may process data outside of Canada, including in the United States. Where this occurs, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place consistent with Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA).
⚖️ Your Rights
Under applicable Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA) and, where applicable, provincial legislation, you have the following rights:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction: Request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Deletion: Request deletion of your personal information, subject to legal retention requirements.
- Withdrawal of Consent: Withdraw consent for certain data processing activities, such as marketing communications or push notifications. Note that withdrawing consent for essential processing (e.g., location during active jobs) may affect your ability to use core features.
- Portability: Request a copy of your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Complaint: Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (OPC) at priv.gc.ca.

Your continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
